Given the resounding success that the RB32 Wide Journal stroker kits have proven to be, we decided to apply the same rationale to the RB26 2.8L platform in order to progress the RB26 to the next level. Much like our RB32 Wide Journal kits, these are a game changer for the RB26 market, employing a wider rod journal bearing. This wider rod journal bearing enables energy and force to be dissipated over a larger area than the standard journal size, enabling tuners to be more aggressive in their approach to power delivery to ultimately produce greater power. The connecting rod bearing has also been made larger in diameter to aid in greater strength. Additionally, we have upgraded the rod bolt size to a 7/16, making the rod wider, stronger and capable of even more reliable power and higher revs. See the fourth image for a comparison between the regular RB26 journal connecting rod against the Wide Journal connecting rod! The crankshaft itself also features a straight shot oiling system to ensure efficient oiling to the bearings.

There was a significant need in the market for a kit that increases the capacity of the RB26, thus, we created our RB26 2.8L stroker kit. To date, the success of the RB28 kit can be seen on the circuit with various Open Class World Time Attack Challenge competitors utilising our kits. This application is arguably the most difficult application for any set of components to endure, given the punishing nature of circuit racing, testing the ability to maintain a certain level of performance over extended periods of time. Additionally, plenty of builds run the RB28 kit on the drag strip with considerable success and these kits can also be seen in street driven applications.

The kit consists of our Nitto/CP pistons in 86.5mm/+0.020” and 87mm/+.0.40” bore sizes. These pistons are cut from low silicon content 2618 material in CP’s Turbo HD forging. In addition to these, the pistons are complete with Nitto custom specifications, PVD rings, 9310 gudgeon pins, accumulator grooves and friction reduction grooves.

The connection between our crankshaft and piston is made possible by our Wide Journal V2 connecting rod. Made from double melted forged billet 4340, the V2 features a revised I-beam pocket and CHE pin bushes amongst other features to easily produce 2000hp. These connecting rods come with 7/16 ARP 2000 rod bolts as standard, with the option to upgrade to Custom Age 625+.

Completing the kit is the Wide Journal 4340 billet crankshaft in 77.7mm stroke. This crankshaft has been purposely designed with strength and high power applications in mind. The crankshafts are an immaculate piece with precision manufactured knife edging to reduce weight and cut through crank case oil mist with ease. This enables the crankshaft to rev freely and easily.
